Terms of Service

Carolina Key Cutters LLC – Refund Policy

Effective Date: December 26, 2025

Carolina Key Cutters LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides automotive locksmith services including but not limited to vehicle lockout assistance, automotive key cutting and programming, ignition repair and replacement, and related automotive security services. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds may be issued for our services.

As an automotive locksmith service provider, we primarily offer labor-based services rather than physical products. Refund eligibility is determined based on service completion and customer satisfaction with the performed work.

3.1 Qualifying Circumstances

Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

● Service was not performed as agreed upon in the work authorization

● Technical failure on our part that prevents completion of the requested automotive locksmith service

● Service does not meet the specifications outlined in our Limited Warranty Policy

● Customer cancellation prior to commencement of on-site work

3.2 Non-Refundable Services

The following services are generally non-refundable:

● Emergency automotive lockout services that have been successfully completed

● Diagnostic fees for automotive lock and key issues

● Travel fees and service call charges once our technician has arrived on-site

● Services that were completed according to specifications but do not meet customer’s undisclosed expectations

4.1 Request Timeline

Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of service completion. Requests submitted after this period may not be considered.

4.2 Documentation Required

Refund requests must include:

● Original invoice number and service date

● Detailed description of the issue or reason for refund request

● Supporting documentation (photos, additional repair estimates, etc.) when applicable

4.3 Processing Time

Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval and will be issued to the original payment method used for the service.

In cases where automotive locksmith services were partially completed or where only certain aspects of the work were unsatisfactory, partial refunds may be issued at our discretion based on:

● Percentage of work successfully completed

● Value of materials used or provided

● Time and labor invested in the service

Issues covered under our Limited Warranty Policy will be addressed through warranty repair or replacement services rather than refunds. Customers should first contact us for warranty service before requesting a refund for warranty-covered issues.

Due to the nature of emergency automotive lockout services, these services are typically non-refundable once successfully completed, as the primary service (regaining vehicle access) has been provided as requested.

Refund disputes that cannot be resolved through direct communication will be subject to the dispute resolution procedures outlined in our Terms and Conditions, including binding arbitration for amounts exceeding $5,000.00.

This Refund Policy may be updated periodically. The current version will always be available on our website at carolinakeycutters.com. Continued use of our services after policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any legal proceedings related to refund disputes shall be conducted in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

All Keys Lost Prior Work Disclosure & Module Condition Notice

Customer Acknowledgment (Required Before Key Code Retrieval)
Customer confirms they have disclosed all prior locksmith, programming, diagnostic, or immobilizer work performed on the vehicle. Failure to disclose prior work voids all warranties and protections.

Pre‑Existing Damage Disclaimer
Carolina Key Cutters LLC cannot determine the condition of the vehicle’s ECU, BCM, immobilizer, or related modules prior to arrival. These components may already be damaged, corrupted, or “bricked” due to previous work by another party.

No Liability for Prior Work
If the vehicle fails to start or accept programming after proper key cutting/programming, the customer agrees Carolina Key Cutters LLC is not responsible for any pre‑existing electronic failure. Module repair or replacement costs remain the customer’s responsibility. Customer agrees not to file insurance claims or disputes alleging Company‑caused damage unless supported by certified diagnostic evidence.

Non‑Refundable AKL Outcomes
If pre‑existing module damage prevents successful programming or starting, all service call fees, travel fees, and diagnostic fees remain non‑refundable, consistent with existing policy.

Dispute Handling
Any dispute exceeding $5,000 follows the binding arbitration procedures outlined in the Terms and Conditions (Forsyth County jurisdiction).

Signature Required
No key code will be pulled and no AKL work will begin until the customer signs this acknowledgment.
